Many people stare at a computer for hours each day, which is causing more and more people to suffer from digital eye strain. Basic symptoms caused by this are dry eyes, blurred vision and potential cramping in the upper back or neck. Eventually, if not remedied, one could suffer from macular degeneration or cataracts.
As we stare at the computer screen, typically, we blink much less. This will cause your eyes to dry out, which then leads to the other potential symptoms. To mitigate the problem, try the 20-20-20 rule. The rule states that after having looked at a computer screen for 20 minutes, look at something else which is 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Also, wearing a quality pair of computer reading glasses, will block the blue light being transmitted from the screen, thereby preventing some of the more serious issues like cataracts.
